Preparing For Your Appointment

Hello everyone!

Coming in for a tattoo is always an exciting moment to get ready for! This at times may be a little overwhelming. I thought I’d make a list of things to bring to your tattoo appointment so you have a little checklist to make the process a bit smoother, be it your first tattoo or your hundredth.

1. Your ID: Most important of all things is bringing your identification card with you. You will not be tattooed at the studio without it. We are required to hold client information for a set amount of time, this helps protect you as well as us. As pumped as I am to tattoo at all times it’s not worth me risking my license.

2. Comfortable Clothing: Come in wearing something loose and comfortable, especially if the tattoo will be on a part of your body that is generally covered by clothing. It’s essential that the area be easily accessible, and that whatever garment worn can be moved a large area away from the tattoo. Tattooing can be a little messy sometimes and keeping it as clean and hygienic as possible is top priority. It also helps me not have to struggle against your clothing while trying to focus on the tattoo!

3. Pillow and blanket: you're very welcome to bring in a pillow and blanket with you as long as these items aren’t large and take up an unnecessary amount of room, you probably shouldn’t bring a comforter…. We do provide a pillow but it has a nonporous leather like casing and gets sprayed with chemicals after every use, probably not the funniest thing to have on your face.

4. Snacks and Hydration: Bringing some light snacks and staying hydrated is a great idea! It ensures you have enough energy throughout the process and helps stave off any wooziness. It can often be a long day, you would be surprised at how much better sitting through a tattoo is with a nice meal before, and something to nibble on at break time.

5. Headphones or Entertainment: I’m always here to chat! But sometimes to help you stay distracted it’s nice to bring some entertainment. Feel free to bring headphones with your favorite music or a podcast to keep yourself entertained. This also helps prevent me from screaming at you about having a conversation with someone over speaker phone. It's distracting and annoying for the other artists and clients around you.

6. A Friend: If having a friend by your side makes you feel more at ease, don't hesitate to bring them along. It's always good to have a familiar face nearby. BUT ONLY ONE IS PERMITTED UNLESS THE OTHERS ARE GETTING TATTOOED! So choose wisely. We have a small shop so having a lot of people with you can get overwhelming fast.

7. Smoking and vaping: You are welcome to bring cigarettes if you are a smoker. We have a back patio where you can smoke. That being said please keep in mind continuous breaks disrupt and lengthen the tattoo process, it will need to be kept to a minimum. I personally do not permit my clients to vape while getting tattooed.

8. Payment: Please remember to bring the agreed-upon payment method. Cash is usually preferred, but I also accept cards (with the additional card charge) and venmo.
